SanDisk Connect™ Wireless Flash Drive App Reviews

Nice Idea BUT:

Build in player must support more video formats.

An indispensabile Device

The SanDisk WiFi flash memory is an indespensable device for pads and tablets. Only problem is a not very clear information for transferring files from the app in which they are made to the Sandisk WIFI app to make it possible to upload them to the Flash Memory. The last firmware resolved other more important and unespected inconveniences

Uploading probl

Before i could easily upload the pictures from my devices to the usb wifi now i cannot anymore...what happened??

Love it.

This help me unload my phone. Saving memory.

Great For Extra Storage

I love that this flash drive and app exist. As someone who has a 32GB iPhone 5c and no chance of being able to afford a newer iPhone with larger memory, this app really comes in handy. You can save pictures, music, files, etc. and easily view or download them to your device. However, I gave this app four stars because it crashes quite a bit and doesnt allow me to play movies/tv shows purchased from iTunes. Other than that, though, its a great app.

I cant upload videos or photos from my iPad anymore I dont know whats happened

For some reason I cant upload photos from my iPad to the SanDisk I dont know whats going on did used to work its not working now.

App not working with new iOS update!

Just got the device today. App will not work with the latest iOS update. PLEASE fix!

Please Fix App!!!

Unable to upload Photos and Videos to the drive (reason I bought one in the first place) because of the new update. Also, unable to create new folders. Please Fix Sandisk!

Problem

Dear, please help me how to fix my application or flash drive. When I was update my iPhone, app stop working. App connect with flash and read it but I cant open it its always return me on main menu.

What did you do

Now I cant upload from iPad. Opens photos to make selection then shuts right down. I think you need to update to iOS 9.0.2

Wont connect anymore

I had the drive maybe a year if that and all of a sudden after I changed the memory card to a 64gb which they said was the max capacity. And now it doesnt even connect to it anymore.

Works on iPhone but not on iPad

Wont let me transfer via the app on my iPad but works for my iPhone! Please fix ASAP

Accessible

It is accessible for blind people and works really well for me, which is all I care about.

Disappointed

Unable to transfer pics from iPad Air to sandisk only partial pics from iPhone. What a disappointment!

App update coming soon!!

SanDisk has told me the app update will be available in a few days. I filed an incident report. Maybe if others did the same it might hurry them up.

Finally!

At last, an update that fix the ugly scaled version for I6+

great app

save lot memory

Please update app

The new update is working good, I love it! Loading app very quickly, thank you very much.

Works intermittently and has audio problems

Just got my Wireless Flash Drive (32GB) and have been using the app on my iPhone 4 and everything seems to be working pretty well. Only problem is that the network connection is dropped as soon as the iPhone goes to the locked screen so you have to keep the display on while using the device/app. Hopefully, SanDisk will fix that defect in a future update, since many of the mainstream streaming media apps dont have that problem (not an issue for Pandora or Amazon Music apps, to name just two). In any case, Im glad they support AirPlay as that allows me to stream music and video from the wireless flash drive to my Apple TV (as long as the screen on the iPhone remains turned on and not in the lock mode). Okay, had to remove another star since I just tried the app on my first generation iPad running iOS 5 and the app is basically a basket case on that device. Lots of problems under iOS 5, they should either admit that they arent supporting that device/OS or spend some time fixing the app for that configuration. Another step back, with the latest app update (v2.1.3, Oct. 7 2015) and firmware the SanDisk Wireless Flash Drive has even more problems (I’m running the latest device firmware and iOS 9.02). Video files will only play intermittently and even when they do they don’t have any audio/sound unless you first play a music file. This is 100% repeatable, but if you never actually quit the app then once you’ve “enabled” the audio by playing a song then the audio in video or movie files will work. So, the workaround is if the audio in video files isn’t playing then exit the video, switch to the music section of the wireless flash drive and play a song. Then, return to the video section and you should have audio.

Since IOS9, you have to do a firmware update on drive, 3.4.2

If you update your iDevice to 9.0.2, you not only have to update the Sandisk app, but also do a firmware update on the drive itself, 3.4.2, and be certain to pick the correct firmware update for your drive, as the one for the 64GB is not for the other units, and vice versa. Call Sandisk support if you find this too tricky to try on your own. But it really needs better and more detailed instructions. The lag time after you do some of the settings can be a bit long, and if you dont hit "save" on things like setting the passwords on networks, can mean having to start all over with the process. Some of the instructions are still written for the 32GB version of the drive, not the 64GB version like I bought, and that can matter like if say, you have to manually update the firmware for the drive itself. Once I got everything sorted out, then it all works rather well, streaming videos well, and transferring photos with ease. But even with the drive shutdown time set for an hour, it can still shutdown in much less time than what you set in the app, into the drive. My rating may get better, after how well I see this works for a while, as I dont just yet trust it to remove items from the iPad after I transfer them with this app to the drive for storage alone. Update. After a long call with Sandisk, and reflashing the drive firmware, and reformatting the drive, things seem to be working for the most part. What remains though, is a serious need to improve the file management tools in the app. You can add a new folder, delete a single file, but you cant direct your uploads to a given folder, either to the drive or to the target device, the only way to get things into a given folder instead of always having everything into the root, is to physically connect this drive into a USB port on a computer and treat it like a regular flash drive. Other apps like for Dropbox or Photobucket include at least a basic set of file management tools, this one should too.
